Comfort, Care, and Companionship for Every Golden Year

In the Old Age Home under the Poor Homes Society, located at West hill, Kozhikode, many facilities are provided for the inhabitants; cot, bed, bed sheet, pillow, blanket, clothes and foot wear are given to every inhabitants of this home.

Bed coffee in the morning, breakfast, meals, evening tea & snacks and dinner are also provided for the inmates. Since many of the donors wish to donate for the meals for the inhabitants in connection with the death anniversary of their dear ones like father, mother, etc., marriage / birth day of their children or any other celebrations, the inhabitants are having sumptuous ‘sadya’ (meals with more than twenty items including payasam) every day (365 days per year). The donors can choose to donate for food for the whole day or any part time of the day separately. The food is prepared in the home’s kitchen. There is a big dining hall to serve the food. In the rehabilitation center food is prepared by the inmates individually with the raw materials and firewood given by the society.

Running hot water for 24 hours, common park, common areas to watch T.V & video and daily news paper are the other facilities provided.

If anybody falls sick, they are given proper medical care or taken to Beach Hospital or Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Every Saturday two doctors from Indian Medical Association come to check the inmates. And an ayurvedic doctor, comes here voluntarily once or twice in a week to give treatments to the inmates.
